Society of Feline Gardeners- Thursday in the Garden with Jonesie
::Meowwww::
Welcome back to my garden! It's been such a wonderful week. We've had sunny and warm weather and everything in my garden looks lovely. Mom says that includes me. ::blush::
Last weekend was Grete woofies 6th birthday. She said she was amazed at how many kitty furriends she has...and special woofie furriends too. From all over the world. Grete and I hung out together while we waited for our pals to teleport over.
I'm very excited that our new peach tree is growing little peaches. I will purr and purr to make sure they grow big and sweet. Just like my Grete.
Our grape plants are doing well.
If you look closely you can see the grapes! They are still tiny, but they will get bigger I just know it.
We had a lady bug hanging out on the grape plants. She thinks they are cool too.
The best part of the day is when my daddy thanks me for all my hard work and snoopervision. He can't do it without me and he makes sure to let me know how much he loves me.

Hi there! I learned a new word this week. Photobombing. Before my furriends Wally and Ernie taught me all about it, I had no idea I was a victim.
I was just hanging out in my own garden, minding my own business...watching the grass grow big and strong. Mom wanted to take photos of me. But guess who was in the background?
And then again, when mom moved in for my close up...who's that blur speeding through the background?
Oh yeah...it's "Not Me"!
Talk to the paw Grete!
I told my daddy that the nip was getting too big...it was time to cut it back. What's that? A collective gasp I hear? No need to worry my furriends. We cut it back and it continues to grow even bigger. Plus, daddy made a kinda bathtub of nip for us to roll in. Figaro wasted no time in jumping in.
Cecilia was happy to see there was still plenty firmly attached to the plants.
After Figaro's roll in the nip, we have lots of potential entries for the Cat-O-Lympics Nippy Face competition.
And for those of you who have submitted Balance Beam entries, we have been overwhelmed with so many talented kitties. We have received about 10 entries in the past day so mom is a bit slow in getting things posted to our page. We will make sure all entries are posted by this weekend. It is going to be so much fun!!!

For those of you who are new to the Society of Feline Gardeners, our super secret password is "Meowwww". In the past we tried to make it more species neutral with 3 paw taps...but evil woofies managed to get in my yard so we had to change the password. Woofies are still allowed, but they have to check in with my Grete first.
Mom was quite pleased with my work. My raspberry bushes are starting to produce beautiful berries. We are super happy about it since it's been dreary and rainy and we thought we might not get many.
Unfortunately, our cherry tree is not doing so good. It's a fine and happy tree, but there are VERY few cherries on it. Mom has picked about 10 cherries total. This is devastating news to precious Cory who adores cherries and thinks of the tree as her toy tree. With so few to eat, mom is not letting Cory play with any of them.
Grete zooms up and down the grape rows. Do you notice anything funny about one of the rows?
With the cooler weather we have been having, we have little milk cartons around the base of our newer plants. This keeps them warm and happy. I think I would like it if there was still milk in those cartons, but you know I'll do anything for my plants.
Some of my seeds have been having trouble sprouting. I asked Cecilia about it and she just looked away...I think she knows something...
Cecilia!!!!! Stop that! Rolling and squishing the seedlings is NOT helpful!!!
Sigh.
Woofie Wednesday
Hi there pals! I'm helping out in the yard today...between squeaky ball tosses.
We have grapes growing! Someday we hope to have wine! Mom and dad tell me we already have whine...um...NOT FUNNY. So what if I vocalize.
We don't get many grapes yet...but someday.
In the meantime, it's fun to run around the rows and stuff with my ball.
When I'm done I hang out with my mom and dad on the deck.
But if evil squirrels are running along the fence...off I go!

I love this time of year in the garden. The beds have been cleaned out and the new plants are in the ground. Now we have to nurture the baby plants to make sure they grow. They like it when you sleep near them. My furs keep them warm. That's important when your weather has been about 10 degrees cooler than what it should be this time of year.
I have lots to snoopervise since we have seedlings as well as baby plants.
Grete woofie hasn't been too serious about her garden work. She's been more interested in her squeaky ball and zooming around the yard. It's what makes her happy.
Not that I ever slack off...nope not me....uh...pay no attention to those white paws on that super comfy Adirondack chair.
Before I say goodbye until next week...we had a VERY special appearance this week from our very own raspberry vines! Mom does a happy dance when it's raspberry season.
That makes me purr.
Happy Gotcha Day Grete!
I'm interrupting this "Mitten Monday" to put my paw down...and take over the day in my own honor! Yes furriends, it's my 4th Gotcha Day!
Mom and dad got a little forgetful...I mean May is a busy month, with Ellie's Birthday, Cory and Ellie's Gotcha Day...it's enough partying to wear us all out! These are the photos from my very first day at home. I had been in the ::pound:: picked up as a stray. I was in a concrete kennel surrounded by barking noisy dogs. I hated it. I wouldn't eat.
Little did I know that on May 21st, 2008, my future mom was searching Petfinder.com while she was at work. Mom and dad were heartbroken because guardian angel woofie Colby had run off to the Bridge in March. They were dogless...
So when mom saw my photo and read my story, she immediately called dad...she arranged to take a 1/2 day vacation and off they went. For me!
So...anyway, they get there and there are all these woofies barking and making a fuss and jumping up and down. There I was...good as gold sitting there quiet in my kennel. They brought me out, talked to me...and I made my move. Yes, I planted a little kiss on mom's face.
Worked like a charm because next thing you know their car door opened and I hopped in!!!
Thing is...the joke was on my mom and dad. I'm not quiet. Not at all.
This is me in my yard earlier this week. I'm loving the life as a professional cat herder and all around good (and noisy) dog!
