Mitten Monday
I have a confession to make. I got in trouble last week.
One of my bestest pals and protectors in the whole wide world goofed up and stepped on my tail. Well, maybe a few furs on my tail.
Anyway, my Grete woofie stepped on my tail and I got all crazy. I went a bit nuts and started hissing and swatting at her.
And you know what that means.
Yup...the little girl gang goes into motion.
My Momma Ellie runs to my defense...paws swinging and four-letter meows flying.
And if Momma Ellie is in the mix...well, Bennette is just one step behind. She's feisty. Paws swinging and meowing meows I've never heard before.
Grete was out numbered.
My mom and dad were right there and they started yelling at us. Dad grabbed Grete to protect her and mom went right for me. And within a second I found myself locked in a bathroom by myself. I was HISSED OFF!
Then I could hear some other stuff going on and doors closing and the next thing you know my Momma Ellie, Bennette and I were all locked in a room together. Like we were in jail or something. And I could hear mom and dad fussing over Grete saying what a good girl she is (and I know she is...) but they said nothing about her stepping on my tail. Sigh.
Mom told me that I needed to cool off...sheesh. Once I was let out of the room after a year one hour Grete and I kissed and made up. Grete loves me and I love her. She promised me that she didn't mean to step on my tail and I believe her.
I love my Grete woofie.
Happy 4th Blogoversary to Us!
Hi there furriends! Today is our 4th Blogoversary!
I can't believe we've been posting for as long as we have. When I first put paws to the keyboard I had no idea what I was doing. Like many of my blogging pals, at the time I had no idea there was such a thing as the Cat Blogosphere. What a find!
We've been so lucky to meet so many wonderful and dear furriends over the years. Here is a link to my VERY first post!
Mom is shaking her head...sighing because at the time I started I meowed that I lived with a few less kitties...
Did you know that when we started blogging, Bennette, Nigel and Figaro had not yet adopted us? Bennette literally knocked on our front door less than a month after we started the blog. Do you think she read about us? Hmmmmm...
Nigel joined us in 2009 and Figaro adopterated us (that what my love Alfie would meow) in 2010.
So grab a niptini, and join us in a toast!
To all of our lovely furriends, thank you for your furriendship and love.
Purrs,
Hi there! I know this is a silly picture of me, but mom says I'm silly sometimes.
In honor of my furriend Brulee's 1st Birthday today, a bunch of my furriends and I are going to the party. It's a circus theme, so we are all dressed as clowns. Can you tell which one is me? How about my boyfurriend Alfie (yes he's there too)?
Hope to see you at the party!
Mitten Monday
OMC! OMCOMCOMC!!!!
It's a letter from my special boyfurriend Alfie!!! Mom!!!! Why didn't you tell me!!! I can feel it's from him...I can feel it in my paws. I can smell his furs. I can see his pawprint!!!
And LOOOOOOKKKIEEEE at the stamps! Gold medal winning rowers! From Alfie's Great Britain! OOOooooohhhh so exciting!
Wha???? You mean this arrived a couple of days ago? Mom!!!! Here's a raspberry for you. You think waiting for a photo op is more important that giving me MY MAIL!!!?
Oh alright. I forgive you. Can I sleep with this under my pillow?
Thank you so much Alfie...and of course your wonderful mom and awesome brother Milo! I love you all.
Momma Meezer Monday
I can't believe the Olympics are over. We had such fun...and my daughter Cory had quite an adventure with her boyfurriend Alfie. They even went to the closing ceremonies together and snuck up on stage for a bit.
I couldn't believe my eyes!
So now what will we do with our time? The Olympics created such awesome lap time in our house.
What's that Cory? Oh yes, we can wash and play and have some quality mom/daughter time.
I think I'd like that.
Purrrrr.
Mitten Monday
My mom and I spent a lot of time together last week watching the Olympics. Her favorite is watching the rowing events. She had a special app on her iPad so she could watch ALL of the events. Every heat, semi, petite finals and finals. Sheesh!
All the splashing around and no matter how much I meowed and swatted at them, they didn't go any faster. At least I think they didn't.
Sigh.
It all makes me a bit sleepy. And we still have a whole week to go. Wonder what we'll be watching next.
Meowing about the Olympics...my momma Ellie and my brother Figaro found out they did NOT medal in the competitive napping events. Unfazed by this turn of events, they promptly went back into training for the Winter Games 2014!
Balance Beam Medals Ceremony
Bennette here! I have the honor of presenting the medals to the winners of the Balance Beam Competition. This is based on my deep experience in the sport and to cover for the brewing international scandal! Where is Ginger when I need him?
It has come to our attention that the poll my lame mom set up didn't work for everyone. So all the kind kitties and woofies trying to vote didn't all get equal chances. We took votes on the blog via comments and we also got lots of nice emails.
In the end, I decided to take over the decisions from Cory (for reasons that will become clear later) and declare the winners...yes winners of each of the medals. Based on percentage of votes received, the gold medal goes to:
The silver medal goes to:
The bronze medal goes to:
All the finalists were so spectacular they all deserved to be medalists. As for Cory...rumors were swirling that she had teleported across the pond to hang out with Alfie Marshall, one of the finalists. I thought that was innocent enough, I mean, they are both sports fans.
But then, the international committee for the PetBlogging games saw pictures like this...and it was obvious that Cory was up to more than watching sports with her young man friend...and impartiality could not be guaranteed.
So to ensure a fair competition, I took over and fairness prevailed.
No one messes with Bennette!
Concats to all the medalists and to all that participated. It was an amazing event and the talent in the Blogosphere is inspiring me to take on balancing challenges beyond my deck.
See you at the Winter Games in 2014!
Thank you to Domino's mom for supplying the spy photos of Alfie and Cory!
Momma Meezer and Mitten Monday
zzzzzzzz.....Oh! I didn't see you come in!
Hi there! Momma Ellie and me here! I realized how often all the other kitties hog the blog and my momma doesn't get much face time. I mean, she's in all of our faces all the time, washing and licking and stuff. Mom says it's because my momma Ellie is "busy". She's always on the move and unless she's asleep she's moving. Many of the pictures of her come out blurry and stuff.
Every once in awhile, mom gets a good photo of us together.
But you can see momma Ellie is still busy washing me...
...and uh...ooops!
All this photo stuff is making me sleepy!
Mitten Monday- Balance Beam Competition
Look up in the sky. It's a bird...it's a plane. No! It's kitties and woofies on the Balance Beam!
Oh my cod...we got about a kazillion wonderful entries for the Balance Beam competition for the Pet Blogging Games- I want to say Cat-O-Lympics, but even woofies entered! It's so exciting. Thank you to all who sent in your photos.
So if you want to check out the entries from some amazing athletes, click on our link to the page we have set up for the event.
Since we have so many entries it will be impossible for us to have a vote on all of them. A distinguished panel of judges will be carefully reviewing the entries and deciding which of the contestants will be in the finals. We will have a decision no later than July 28th. At that time we'll post a poll so the gold, silver and bronze will be decided by a vote.
Let the games begin!
