Wordy Wednesday

Hi there pals!  I heard that yesterday Ginger and Madison caused a fuss because they claimed to be mom's favorite.  Well guess what?

They're wrong!!!

Oh yeah, that's right because...::shhh:: don't tell anyone...but I'm mom's favorite!

Mom tells me so all the time!  I'm her most favorite beefy black house panther boy on the planet!
She adores me because when I came to live here I was a total basket case.  So afraid of everything and everyone.   But not anymore!  Now I hang out with the other kitties and while I am invisible to ALL but mom and dad, I know that mom waits for me at night and I alone snuggle up with her and mash my cute and mighty nose into her hands.  Ok, I grind my nose as hard as I can into my mom.  That's how much we love each other.  Sometimes I drool.   Mom says I have the softest manfur and I am her sweet and gentle boy.

I used to be outside and alone and now I won't go near a door.  I still worry that if I go outside I might never get back in.

And that breaks mom's heart.  She would do anything to protect me.

That's why I know she loves me best.

Wednesday Nigel Update

Hi there!  I got a message from one of my furriends asking about me.  Last they heard I was accused of being the family "flea farm".

Well, it was true.  The fleas love me.  Everybody does.

We finally figured out that Frontline no longer worked for us.  Mom does not know if they changed their formula or if it just stopped working for us.  Anyway, our vet gave us Revolution flea treatment and the fleas are gone!

So now if I want to have a party...with me and 20 of my closest friends, I supposed I better supply the nip cigars and the meowgaritas.

Happy Gotcha Day Nigel!

Hi there!  Happy Gotcha Day to me!!!!!  It was 3 years ago today that I was trapped in my very own backyard and brought inside to live the good life.  At the time I was freaked out about the whole thing...but you know what?

It was cold and snowy on the morning I was trapped.  I was ill too.  I really don't know how much longer I would have made it on my own.

And you know what?  I haven't stepped a paw outside since that day.  I won't even go near a door.  If I wander too close to a door, I run away fast.   Sometimes I like looking out the windows, but I much prefer the view on the inside.

I think I'm the luckiest cat in the world!

So stay awhile and have some fresh baby nip, play a bit and nap if you like.  I just want to spend the day enjoying my furriends and family and appreciating all that I have.

Mancat Monday

I'm always a bit sad when Christmas is over.  I love sitting under the Christmas tree with all the lights and the smell of the tree.

New Years Day is the day the tree comes down...the lights get put away for another year.

Sigh.

Black Friday

Forget about shopping 'til you drop today.

Today is the day to honor black cats everywhere.    Let's bring new meaning to Black Friday.

House Panthers rock!!!

This graphic was made by our awesome furriends at Zoolatry a long time ago and that is me, Cory , in the upper left corner.  This was made before Nigel joined our family.

Mancat Monday

The last time little Corywhippersnapper and I shared a post...most of you noticed that I was a tad bit bigger than my sweet sister.   I'm a big tough guy...pay no attention to the cat who looks a whole lot like me...um...sleeping on the comfy chair with the...uh fluffy white blankie...no sireeee...not me....uh...

oh....busted....

Ok, what can I say.   I'm a big ol' softie.  I wouldn't dream of setting a paw outdoors.  I had enough of that in my carousing days.  Yup, I'm just a big soft marshmallow.

Speaking of big.   Some of you wanted to know just how big.

16.6 pounds of pure beefy mancat!

With the most amazing fuzzy paws.

Together on Tuesday

There's nothing quite like a post Halloween nap.

Mom loves this picture, not just because we're totally cute...but it's because this shows you how huge Nigel is compared to Bennette.  He's a big beefy boy.

Tuesday with Cory and Nigel

Mom says she has a hard time photographing us inside the house in the fall and winter.  With our black furs and mom refusing to use a flash inside the house, we have to suffer a kazillion outtakes while mom keeps trying.

Nice try mom.

We are not really in the mood to get our photos taken today.  We learned that our good furriend Parker was diagnosed with cancer.  Please join us in purring for her and her family.

ManCat Monday

There's big news at my house.  Something happened that I've been waiting for since I moved in.  That means I've been waiting for 2 years and 3 months...like forever!

Everyone knows that I just love Ellie.  She likes me, but never really lets me get that close.  When she has offered up a lick I get over excited and I throw a big beefy paw around her sweet neck and try to wrestle with her.  She hates that and she scolds me and runs off in a hissed off huff.

Mom coached me to be more patient.  She said when Ellie offers up a lick I have to resist ALL urges to put a paw on her.  I was told to just sit there and do nothing and all my dreams would come true.

And it worked!!!  Ellie came up to me while I was on mom's lap and she started to lick my head.  I just sat there and pretty soon she was scrubbing both of my ears and washing my whole head.  I PURRRRED!  I purred so loud I'm sure everyone in the whole world could hear me.

I'm a happy cat.

Society of Feline Gardeners- Nigel's 2nd Gotcha Day Celebration!

::purr::

It's a big day in the garden!  We've been preparing for Nigel's 2nd Gotcha Day.   Yup, 2 years ago today, mom and dad snuck out in the snowy yard and put out a trap loaded with Fancy Feast to lure the elusive "Mr. Bojangles" aka Nigel into a life of love and happiness.  You can check out his celebration from last year when we had a singalong!

When he was caught in the trap, he freaked out!  It took 4 months of living in a bedroom by himself...with mom sneaking Prozac into his Fancy Feast meals...until he finally settled down and let us love him.   Mom said she felt bad about scaring Nigel with the trap, but she had tried and tried for months to gain his trust with Fancy Feast in hand and could only get within 5 feet of him.  If it were summer time she would have tried longer, but it was winter and snowing and Nigel was showing signs of having an upper respiratory infection.

I mean the yard is wonderful and nice and a great place to be, but there's not one of us that wants to be out here full time.  We all remember what is was like to be alone and hungry and cold.

Grete woofie wanted to catch a squirrel to give to Nigel for the happy occasion.

She's laughing because squirrel hunting is so much fun, even if you don't actually catch a squirrel.  I help Grete with the hunting.  It's what we do in the winter months when our gardening workload is light.

Meanwhile, the Gotcha Day boy sits and looks out the window at the yard.  He has not set a paw outside in 2 years and he has no intention of doing so.  When a door opens, he heads in the other direction.   He loves sharing the cat tree with Figaro.

Nigel, we love you and  hope you never know a day of loneliness ever again.

Mitten and The Mancat on Monday

Don't tell Miss Ellie, but Cory has been giving me advice on how to woo her momma.

Cory has been telling me I've been a patient gentleman cat WAY too long.  I should just go for it.

There...got in the headbutt and body rub!  See how I did  that?   Miss  Ellie gave me a little licker too!  Just a little one, but that's ok!!  ::swoon::

She said she'd deny it if asked, but you saw it here!!!!

Waiting For Santa

If I stay right here, I won't miss it when Santa drops off the gifts.

Momma Meezer and the Mancat

We don't sleep together yet.   We believe in taking things slowly...very slowly.  At this rate, we'll sleep with the tips of our tails touching in about 2 years.

We are a bit sad because this couch which we have known all the time we have been here is going away.  Not only that, but it will be a couple of weeks before the new one arrives.  Where are we going to sit???  Mom doesn't expect us to sleep in a...::gasp::...cat bed??

Mom and dad think this perfectly good couch is a mess because Grete woofie managed to dig holes in one of the cushions.  Grete was just improving it and making it more comfy.   If we sit on the couch our furs cover the visible holes.  All the more reason we should sit on the couch.
