Society of Feline Gardeners- Thursday in the Garden with Jonesie

 ::Meowwww::

Hi there furriends!  Today I'm teaching my brother Figaro important gardening lessons.  The fine art of watching lettuce grow is fairly simple.  Lettuce does well in our garden but the weeds grow up around it.  Here I am demonstrating how to use my body as a physical barrier to the weeds.  They won't dare grow up around my belly furs.

 As always, purring for your plants makes all the difference.  As you can see below, we have more flowers blooming right now.  Our cone flower is just getting started.

 More daisies for mom!  She adores them.
 The buddliea bush is going to be attracting butterflies soon!  I can hardly wait.
 Now, you all know that being a garden cat means that I get dirt and leaves in my furs.  Even though I get a bit messy, I am a ladycat and I like to look my best.
Mom Furminated me and got my coat all soft and silky.

And after she was done, I finished up with a nice paw and face wash.

I hope you are enjoying your gardens!

**breaking news**

Little did you all know that gardening is not my only job.  I now have another important job to add to my resume.  Matchmaker!  Oh yeah!  See my sister Cory has been heartbroken since her beloved Whitey went to the Rainbow Bridge earlier this year.  Just last week I heard my bestest furriend in the whole world, Alfie Marshall, was looking for a new girlfurriend.   It didn't take long for me to realize...hey this just may work!  Maybe then I'll get to see my pal Alfie more often too.  Win win win for all!

I'll give you a sneak peek at their first picnic date earlier this week....

My furriends!  Although it's been pouring down rain here this past week, I did manage to get in one fantastic day of sunshine and dry weather in the garden last Saturday.  I had previously given up on my garden, but found that there were still plenty of things still growing and needing my attention.  I also had to remind mom that she can't just pack it in for the fall/winter.  There is still stuff to do!

Pears are falling to the ground and they need rescuing!

We still have tomatoes clinging to life.

The sedum that was just barely pink a few weeks ago is now deep pink.

The happy dahlia reminds us of a sunbeam!

These are berries in our devil's walking cane tree.  There are pigeons who come to our tree every fall to eat these berries.  They are spooky birdies since whenever mom or dad gets too close they fly away and stop eating.  That makes us feel bad so we watch from a distance so they can eat all they want.

I know...I know...mom and dad need to pick up these pears.  They are EVERYWHERE!

You didn't think I'd end this garden post in October without a shot of my pretty 'tocks, did you?   A classic pose...with garden leaf!

Enjoy your gardens my furriends!

Society of Feline Gardeners-Thursday In The Garden With Jonesie and Grete's 5th Birthday!

::3 paw taps::

Welcome back to my garden!  I've been getting questions from kitties wanting to know how they can join the Society of Feline Gardeners.   It's easy!  All you have to do is be a kitty (or a woofie or buns...or birdies...-that's why we went with our new super not so secret password of 3 paw taps) that has a garden, dreams of a garden...or just wants to join us because...well just because.

You can copy our Society of Feline Gardeners badge from my side bar and use it on your bloggie to show you are a member.   Or you can email me and I can send it to you.

Then when you do a garden post on Thursdays, leave a link so all the other members of The Society of Feline Gardeners...or just curious kitties can visit you.

Ginger and I did a bit of hanging out this past week.  We didn't work too hard.

When I lay around in the garden I get leaves and stuff stuck in my furs.  I like it that way.  I'm an outdoorsy kind of girl.  It's important to show your appreciation for your garden by wearing a bit of it.

I like to stretch and show of my collection.

Gotta wander off and check out what's growing!

Looks like the broccoli is starting to look good.

Before I forget it's our Grete's 5th birthday today!

Please leave a link so we can visit!

Society of Feline Gardeners- Thursday in the Garden with Jonesie

::purr::

Time to welcome you all to our weekly meeting of the Society of Feline Gardeners.  I admit that I have not been much of a role model this week.  There is stuff to do, but I was not effective at getting my family of helpers to help me.

Ginger was NO help at all.  She wanted to expose her belly to me. She said if I just let myself have a good time, expose my belly to the world, I'd feel a whole lot better.

She said I work too hard.  Don't take enough time off.  She said I'm dull, boring...

Then to make matters worse, Figaro jumped in and claimed the same thing!  He said I should take a week off.  Lounge on the garden bench.  Expose my belly!

But I have flowers to tend to...

Visitors to welcome (yes that's Figaro's momma hiding in our weed patch).

So my Garden Society members...do you think I should do it?  Take some time off to expose my belly and let my dad do all the work in the garden?  I hear the rain is coming in by the end of this week, so perhaps I should grab those sunbeams while I can.
Let me know if you are working in the garden this week or just enjoying it!
