Wordless Wednesday

Tabby Tattletale Tuesday

I love my brother Madison.   He's old and he dodders around, but he does alright for being 16.  I hope I'm doing as well as he is when I'm his age.
He wandered over to the birdbath water bowl to take a drink.  Why is it that I had no interest in the dish until I saw him drinking out of it.  Age before...uh...whatever...
 Move over dude...
You did not see me push my brother out of the way. Nope.  Not at all.
I actually shared with him.  Really I did.

So...in matters of fun this week...there was a line up at the outdoor food dish.  Cecilia, followed by Figaro followed by Madison.  It turned into a butt sniffing conga line!  Ha!

Tuesday with Cecilia

Hi there!  I bet you were wondering about me.  I wanted to let you know that I'm happy and doing well.  Bennette and I still don't get along.  We still have to be separated in the house, but we are being good at trading off being in the luxury suite.

See, mom found out that when we are outside in the yard together, we don't fight at all.  It's only in the house.  So when mom saw the 2 of us sitting within about a foot of each other...she was afraid a scuffle was about to happen.  Nope.

I got better things to do out in the garden.

See ya!

Tuxie Tuesday- Nipalooza 2012

When I heard that dad was going to be harvesting the nip, I was worried.  I didn't want him to chop any of it down.   Then I saw that he put it all in the rolling bathtub.

I couldn't believe my good fortune!  I hopped in.
 Mine!  All mine!   Oh...so good.
I'm telling you...you can't grind this stuff in close enough...can I floss with this?
Hi there...now go away.  What?  You want to see a cute Nippy Face for the Cat-O-Lympics competition?   How about this?
Gotta go...be a gentlemen and let the ladies have a chance.
Don't worry Cecilia, I left a little for you.  Don't mind the drool, ok?

Society of Feline Gardeners- Thursday in the Garden with Jonesie

::Meowwww::
Hi there!  I learned a new word this week.  Photobombing.  Before my furriends Wally and Ernie  taught me all about it, I had no idea I was a victim.
I was just hanging out in my own garden, minding my own business...watching the grass grow big and strong.  Mom wanted to take photos of me.   But guess who was in the background?
And then again, when mom moved in for my close up...who's that blur speeding through the background?

 Oh yeah...it's "Not Me"!
Talk to the paw Grete!
I told my daddy that the nip was getting too big...it was time to cut it back.   What's that?  A collective gasp I hear?  No need to worry my furriends.  We cut it back and it continues to grow even bigger.  Plus, daddy made a kinda bathtub of nip for us to roll in.   Figaro wasted no time in jumping in.
Cecilia was happy to see there was still plenty firmly attached to the plants.

After Figaro's roll in the nip, we have lots of potential entries for the Cat-O-Lympics Nippy Face competition.

And for those of you who have submitted Balance Beam entries, we have been overwhelmed with so many talented kitties.  We have received about 10 entries in the past day so mom is a bit slow in getting things posted to our page.  We will make sure all entries are posted by this weekend.   It is going to be so much fun!!!

Society of Feline Gardeners- Thursday in the Garden with Jonesie

 ::Meowwww::
For those of you who are new to the Society of Feline Gardeners, our super secret password is "Meowwww".  In the past we tried to make it more species neutral with 3 paw taps...but evil woofies managed to get in my yard so we had to change the password.  Woofies are still allowed, but they have to check in with my Grete first.
Mom was quite pleased with my work.  My raspberry bushes are starting to produce beautiful berries.  We are super happy about it since it's been dreary and rainy and we thought we might not get many.
Unfortunately, our cherry tree is not doing so good.  It's a fine and happy tree, but there are VERY few cherries on it.  Mom has picked about 10 cherries total.  This is devastating news to precious Cory who adores cherries and thinks of the tree as her toy tree.  With so few to eat, mom is not letting Cory play with any of them.
Grete zooms up and down the grape rows.  Do you notice anything funny about one of the rows?
With the cooler weather we have been having, we have little milk cartons around the base of our newer plants.  This keeps them warm and happy.  I think I would like it if there was still milk in those cartons, but you know I'll do anything for my plants.
Some of my seeds have been having trouble sprouting.  I asked Cecilia about it and she just looked away...I think she knows something...
Cecilia!!!!!  Stop that!  Rolling and squishing the seedlings is NOT helpful!!!

Sigh.

Cory Announces CatOlympics Event!

Hi there everyone!  I wonder how many of you were around when we last held the CatOlymic events a couple of years ago?  Well you are in for a ton of fun!  My furriend Huffle Mawson is getting us all off to a good start.  Please click the link to to her blog and she'll give you all the scoop.  What you need to know from us is that we'll be hosting the Balance Beam competition!

I don't have photos of winning entries from the last event, but we've got a few ideas for preparing and training for this world class competition.

Points will be awarded for style and degree of difficulty.  Below, Jonesie demonstrates how to start training on a wide beam that is close to the ground.

Below, Cecilia demonstrates how she has tried the narrow strip of wood around the garden bed.  It's close to the ground but very difficult to walk on.  See how she uses the soft dirt to cushion her fall.

Safety first my pals!

Figaro attempts and fails at the brick border.  Notice the soft grass is not far from his paws!  Soon he will attempt more difficult apparatus.

Jonesie and Cecilia work together to improve their skills.

So there you have it, lots of ideas on how to train.  You can use indoor or outdoor balance beams.

Here are the rules to enter:

You must submit your entry to me no later than Friday 13th July (whatever time zone you're in).
  1. You must email me your picture, together with the name of the cat/dog competing AND a link to your blog by sending it to corycatblogATgmailDOTcom
  2. Competing in this event means that you are giving me permission to use your picture for the Cat-O-Lympics 2012.
  3. Entry is open to all cats and dogs. You do not need to have a blog to enter.
  4. Cory has not yet decided how the winner will be determined however since gymnastics are typically a judged event, we will likely use a poll on the blog so readers can vote.
  5. Prizes will be the pride  you have in knowing that the CatBlogsphere knows how awesome you are!
Oh yeah, and you need to be balancing on something!

Mitten Monday

Lots of my furriends are asking me about my sister Cecilia.  How is she doing since she's been back home from her adventure?   She's doing well...as long as she and Bennette aren't allowed to see each other in the fur!

Cecilia is a good sister.  I don't understand why she and Bennette hate each other so much.  To handle the situation, mom has our TV room set up with all the comforts and litter box.  Each day Cecilia and Bennette trade off spending time in the room.  That way both of them get to spend plenty of time with the rest of us without having to deal with each other.  Neither one has to spend more than 24 hours at a time in the room.  The bonus for both of them is that Momma Ellie gets unlimited visiting time in the TV room.  None of the rest of us go in there.

We think mom and dad deserved this treat!
