Society of Feline Gardeners- Thursday in the Garden with Jonesie

::3 paw taps::

Excuse me...3 wet paw taps.

Can I borrow a towel?

I've spent way too much time hanging out near the house...trying to stay dry.  It's been raining way too much for July.  The only good news is that my garden is getting lots of water.  Everything is growing like crazy!

 I can't sit at my table and entertain furriends like I want to do.

You know what that means?

Yup.  Time for this smart garden cat to snooze it up inside the house.  If it were cold...I'd be in front of the fireplace.

Sweet garden dreams my furriends!

::3 paw taps::

I just loved Ellie's Meezer Colors post yesterday.  She chose green as her color.  I agree that green is the best color of all.

Green is the color of the grass under my paws as I patrol the yard and make sure everything is in order.  Since all the vegetable planting is done, this past week was spent making sure everything is watered and weeded.

Grete did her part keeping dad company while he weeded the big weed patch.  My advice...never plant comfrey in your garden unless you want it to try and take over the world.  Trust me.
Since Grete had dad well under control, I took a few moments to enjoy the rare sunbeams.  Yes, even a garden cat must take time out for herself...air out her belly furs and enjoy the smell of spring grass.

Sometimes when I come out of my snoozie break I forget to put my tongue back in my mouth.  It happens to all of us I'm sure.
The poppies are popping and now we have both the peach ones and the red ones.
Figaro took a moment to share gardening tips with our neighbor cat, Remington.  It helps to get a different purrspective.

Hope you are enjoying your gardens.  Please leave a link!

Society of Feline Gardeners- Thursday Belly Duel in the Garden with Jonesie and Ginger

::3 paw taps::

My furriends, I gotta tell you that we didn't get much gardening done this weekend.  The weather is still dreary so mom and dad will not help me plant vegetables until Memorial Day weekend.  We had a few sunbeams...and idle paws were left to figure it out for themselves.

I knew there was trouble when I saw Ginger's face.

She had mischief on her mind.

Cue up "Dueling Banjos" music....

She flopped down and challenged me to a belly duel!

She reminded me that the OK Cats were hosting a tummy contest and we missed the boat.  No reason we couldn't just duke this out among ourselves, right in our own backyard!
Take that!

Right back at  ya!

Roll...

No one can resist my paw overhead move!

What about my demure twister?

A paw lick mid-belly exposure is a sure winner...

Tongues and bellies are a great combo!

Forget the face...just belly!

Hey there!

Just hanging out...me and my belly!

I can reach out and touch my pals while they admire my belly.

I got more moves than you!

NO  WAY!

Pfffttt! No matter what, daddy loves me!

Hope you've been having some fun in your garden this week.  If you haven't yet voted at the OK Cats belly contest, please do that.  Meanwhile, you can vote for either me or Ginger, right here on the blog.  We'll leave the poll open until midnight EST Thursday May 12th.

Society of Feline Gardeners-Thursday In The Garden With Figaro

::purrr::

Hi there garden pals!  Jonesie gave me the go ahead to say the super secret password and get this meeting started.

We finally got several days in a row of dry weather, so I've been pawing around and checking stuff out.  The garden cart is on it's side for the winter so we can't climb in it and play haul stuff around.

Our next door neighbor, Remington, pals around with me a lot.  He is responsible for the garden next door.  We swap advice and stuff.

Jonesie has advised me that part of being a garden cat is posing handsomely in front of work that still needs to be done.  Can you believe that mom and dad still have not pulled up these dead corn stalks?  Mom thinks they are cool for photo ops, but I think she's just being lazy.

The grape arbor was trimmed up in preparation for spring.

Do you ever get the feeling you are being watched?

The garden bed that last week was such a mess has now been mostly cleaned out.  This is the hardest job a gardencat must perform...making sure your humans are doing their fair share of the work.

So where you may ask is Jonesie this week? She is still enjoying her vacation from gardening.  She is sleeping and growing her neck floof back.  Mom and dad are still fighting the fleas but for the most part they are winning the battle and Jonesie is healing up.  Thing is...I think she likes knowing that she no longer has to do it all, so she's soaking up lap time waiting for it warm up and dry out.

Society of Feline Gardeners- Thursday in the Garden with Jonesie

::purr::

Time to welcome you all to our weekly meeting of the Society of Feline Gardeners.  I admit that I have not been much of a role model this week.  There is stuff to do, but I was not effective at getting my family of helpers to help me.

Ginger was NO help at all.  She wanted to expose her belly to me. She said if I just let myself have a good time, expose my belly to the world, I'd feel a whole lot better.

She said I work too hard.  Don't take enough time off.  She said I'm dull, boring...

Then to make matters worse, Figaro jumped in and claimed the same thing!  He said I should take a week off.  Lounge on the garden bench.  Expose my belly!

But I have flowers to tend to...

Visitors to welcome (yes that's Figaro's momma hiding in our weed patch).

So my Garden Society members...do you think I should do it?  Take some time off to expose my belly and let my dad do all the work in the garden?  I hear the rain is coming in by the end of this week, so perhaps I should grab those sunbeams while I can.
Let me know if you are working in the garden this week or just enjoying it!
